As announced, 8,241 out of 11,402 (72.28%) passed the first digital bar exams.

The Supreme Court (SC) conducted the bar exam on February 4 and 6, 2022 or after several postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was the first time that the exams were held in multiple venues (31 testing sites scattered in 22 local government units across the country) and was shortened to two days instead of four. SC also adopted digital modality of the exams using secured online application.
Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, 2020/2021 Bar chairperson, said that 11,378 examinees took the exams or equivalent to 96.5 percent turnout. This was considered as the biggest batch of bar candidates.

Aspiring lawyers were tested in the following revised subjects: The Law Pertaining to the State and Its Relationship with Its Citizens (30%), Criminal Law (15%), The Law Pertaining to Private Personal and Commercial Relations (30%) and Procedure and Professional Ethics (25%).
The standard 75% passing percentage is expected to prevail in the recent exam, same in the previous years.

On April 5, the Supreme Court announced through a press briefer the exact release date of the 2020-2021 bar exam results.
Leonen asked the Court to hold a special En Banc session on Tuesday for the purpose of considering his report on the first-ever digitalized and regionalized Bar Examinations and the release of its results.
The high court added that oath-taking of successful examinees will be on May 2, 2022.
On exam results day, PRC Board News will provide live updates as SC prepares for the release of list of passers, exemplary passers (85% and up average rating) and performance of schools.
