In the resolution released this week, PRC postponed October 2013 exams in the Philippines and in abroad due to vacancies in the Board of Electronics Engineering, leaving only one (1) member. PRC said that the Board is short of the requirement for a quorum to validly perform its duties and functions specifically in the formulation and extraction of test items/questions, examination proper and releasing of results.
Under Republic Act (R.A.) 9292, the Board shall be composed of a Chairman and two (2) members who shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines.

The Board now anticipates new appointments to the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering. It has determined that there will be no sufficient time for the new members to formulate questions and prepare for the October 2013 licensure examinations.

One of the review centers for ECE said that historically, there were some postponements, yet they were due to typhoon.
Hopefully, PRC will announce soon the new schedule for 2013 ECE Board examination. That is, if new members of the Board have been duly appointed and qualified.
