Coverage of Exam, Program January 2014 LET - Teachers board exam released

On Sunday, January 26, 2014, thousands of Education-course graduates (Elementary and Secondary) will try to hurdle LET (Licensure examination for Teachers) - teachers' board exam.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) already released the program and coverage of exam for board licensure examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).

PRC said that separate test booklets will be used for the General Education (GE) and Professional Education (PE) subjects for both elementary and secondary levels in January 26, 2014 LET.

Here are the Program of Examination for Elementary and Secondary:

For Elementary Teacher Examinees Only

6:30am - 7:45 am - General Instructions/ Filling-up of forms
8:00am - 10:00am - General Education (40%)
11:00am - 2:00pm - Professional Education (60%)

For Secondary Teacher Examinees Only

6:30am - 7:45 am - General Instructions/ Filling-up of forms
8:00am - 10:00am - General Education (20%)
11:00am - 2:00pm - Professional Education (40%)
3:00pm - 6:30 pm - Specialization (40%)

Coverage of examination includes details for General Education (GE), Professional Education (PE) and specialization.

GE covers English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences subjects.

PE for Elementary and Secondary is composed of teaching profession, social dimensions of education, principles of teaching, education technology, curriculum development, facilitating learning, child and adolescent development, assessment of student learning, developmental reading, field study and practice teaching.

There are 10 specializations for Secondary Teacher with exam coverage depends on your chosen course: English, Filipino, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Social Studies or Social Sciences, Values Education, MAPEH, Agriculture and Fishery Arts and TLE (Technology and Livelihood Education).

PRC said that in order to pass January 2014 LET, an examinee must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.
