OFFICIAL RESULTS: March 2018 LET teachers board exam list of passers

MANILA, Philippines — (RELEASED) The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) released results of March 2018 LET or teachers board exam on May 23, 2018 or in forty (40) working days after the exam. The complete list of passers, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing schools and performance of schools for Elementary and Secondary level are available on this page as announced online.

UPDATE: PRC announced that 13,774 elementary teachers out of 58,323 examinees (23.62%) and 22,936 secondary teachers out of 76,673 examinees (29.91%) successfully passed the LET.

It is further announced that of the 13,774 elementary teacher passers, 4,360 are first timers and 9,414 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 15,035 passers are first timers and 7,901 are repeaters.

The results of examination with respect to four (4) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.

PRC administered the first LET board exam this year on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in at least 20 testing centers nationwide: Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Catarman, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Kidapawan, Legazpi, Lucena, Occidental Mindoro, Pagadian, Palawan, Romblon, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

The members of the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairman; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Vice Chairman; Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy, Members.

SUMMARY OF LET RESULTS
In accordance with the law, passing the licensure exam and having valid professional license from the Commission are necessary before the practice of teaching profession in the Philippines. Otherwise, those who will violate may face fine and imprisonment based on penal provisions.

REGISTRATION AND OATHTAKING

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be from June 4 to June 11, 2018 for Elementary Level and June 14 to June 29, 2018 for Secondary Level.

The requirements for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card (ID) are the following:

1) Notice of Admission;
2) duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal;
3) two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag);
4) two sets of documentary stamps;
5) 1 piece short brown envelope.

"Successful examinees should PERSONALLY register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals," PRC said.

COVERAGE OF EXAM

March 2018 LET is composed of (2) parts for Elementary — General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%) — and three (3) parts for Secondary — General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%) and Specialization (40%).

The test covered the major areas of General Education (English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences), Professional Education (teaching profession, social dimensions of education, principles of teaching, education technology, curriculum development, facilitating learning, child and adolescent development, assessment of student learning, developmental reading, field study and practice teaching). The 10 specializations for Secondary Teacher with exam coverage depends on the chosen course: English, Filipino, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Social Studies or Social Sciences, Values Education, MAPEH, Agriculture and Fishery Arts and TLE (Technology and Livelihood Education.

To pass the LET, an examinee must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.

RELEASE OF RESULTS

According to PRC Resolution No. 2017-1068, which deals with the 'Schedule of Licensure Examinations for Year 2018, the target release date of March 2018 LET result on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 or in 37 working days after the exam.

PRC's projection excludes 8 Saturdays and Sundays and 5 holidays namely Maundy Thursday (March 29), Good Friday (March 30), The Day of Valor (April 9), Labor Day (May 1) and Barangay and SK Elections (May 14). A total of 58 calendar days or nearly two months was calculated.

Several factors like total number of examinees, effect of work cancellations due to calamities and unforeseen events and system of checking the pencil-based tests may cause deviation on target release date.

From time-to-time, PRC Board News will update this page to give the exact release period.

PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS

In the same period last year, results were released in forty (40) working days after the exam. A total of 5,600 elementary teachers out of 53,915 examinees (10.39%) and 18,482 secondary teachers out of 72,584 examinees (25.46%) passed the exams. Samantha Christel Chua Gaerlan from De La Salle University (DLSU) - Manila led the Elementary level exam with 90.60%. University of Mindanao (UM) - Davao City alum Marian Kaye Fortinez Gallego topped the Secondary level. None of the schools qualified for the top performing school list for Elementary. Meanwhile, University of the Philippines (UP) - Diliman topped the schools for Secondary.

March 2016 LET results were announced in forty-one (41) working days. A total of 12,128 elementary teachers out of 42,739 examinees (28.38%) and 18,810 secondary teachers out of 53,090 examinees (35.43%) successfully hurdled the one-day exam. Rowena Miano Hingpit from UM-Davao topped the elementary level garnering 90.60%. Michael Prince Notorio del Rosario from Lorma College led the passers for Secondary level, 92.00%. None of the schools qualified for the elementary level top performing school list. UPD also dominated the secondary level exam.
