MANILA, Philippines — (Updated December 7) The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) released results of September 2018 LET or teachers board exam today, December 7, 2018 or in 52 working days after the exam. The complete list of passers, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing schools and performance of schools are available on this page as announced online.

PRC announced that 18,409 elementary teachers out of 90,750 examinees (20.29%) and 60,803 secondary teachers out of 126,582 examinees (48.03%) successfully passed the exams.

"Pursuant to PRC Resolution No. 2004-223 dated July 19, 2004, results of examinations are final and request for reconsideration of failing grades is not allowed," PRC said.

It is further announced that of the 18,409 elementary teacher passers, 17,200 are first timers and 1,209 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 52,453 passers are first timers and 8,350 are repeaters.

"The results of examination with respect to five (5) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination," PRC added.

PRC administered the second LET board exam this year on Sunday, September 30 in at least 25 testing centers in the country: Baguio, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro (CDO), Catarman (Northern Samar), Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Laoag, Legaspi, Lucena, Manila, Rosales (Pangasinan), Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Pagadian, Zamboanga, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Kidapawan, Boac, Palawan and Masbate City.

The members of the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairman; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Vice Chairman; Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy, Members.

SEPTEMBER 2018 LET RESULTS SUMMARY
In accordance with the law, passing the licensure exam and having valid professional license from the Commission are necessary before the practice of teaching profession in the Philippines. Otherwise, those who will violate may face fine and imprisonment based on penal provisions.

REGISTRATION AND OATHTAKING

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be from December 17, 2018 to January 18, 2019.

The requirements for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card (ID) are the following:
  • Notice of Admission (for identification only)
  • downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag)
  • two sets of documentary stamps
  • 1 piece short brown envelope
PRC said that successful examinees should PERSONALLY register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Passers may also register at the Philippine Normal University and Arellano University campuses.

The dates and venues for the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER, the Commission added.

COVERAGE OF EXAM

The program for September 2018 LET is composed of (2) parts for Elementary — General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%) — and three (3) parts for Secondary — General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%) and Specialization (40%).

To pass the LET, an examinee must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.

RELEASE OF RESULTS

According to PRC Resolution No. 2017-1068, which deals with the 'Schedule of Licensure Examinations for Year 2018', the target release of September 30, 2018 LET board exam results is on Tuesday, December 4 or in forty-four (44) working days after the test.

PRC's projection excludes Saturdays and Sundays and three (3) holidays namely — All Saints' Day (Thursday, November 1), special non-working day (Friday, November 2) and Bonifacio Day (Friday, November 30). A total of 65 calendar days or a little over 2 months was calculated.

Several factors like total number of examinees, effect of work cancellations due to calamities and unforeseen events and system of checking the pencil-based tests may cause deviation on target release date.

We advise LET takers to monitor release of results starting November 19 (34 working days) to December 7 (47 working days). From time-to-time, PRC Board News will update this page to give the exact release period.

In the same period last year, results were released in forty-three (43) working days after the exam. A total of 21,198 elementary teachers out of 80,509 examinees (26.33%) and 49,626 secondary teachers out of 107,020 examinees (46.37%) successfully passed the tests.

In the September 2016 exams, results were announced online in forty-eight (48) working days. PRC said that 23,378 elementary teachers out of 77,466 examinees (30.18%) and 31,334 secondary teachers out of 92,754 examinees (33.78%) successfully passed the exams.
