PRC releases LET Results September 27, 2015 teachers board exam

PRC and the Board of Professional Teachers (BPT) released official results of September 27, 2015 LET (Licensure Examination for Teachers) or known as Teachers Board Exam in 48 working days after the exam. The complete list of passers out of 149,905 total examinees, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing schools and performance of schools are all available here as published by PRC.

PRC on Monday, November 30, 2015 announced that 21,461 elementary teachers out of 68,442 examinees (31.36%) and 34,010 secondary teachers out of 81,463 examinees (41.75%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (L.E.T.).

It is further announced that of the 21,461 elementary teacher passers, 20,145 are first timers and 1,316 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 29,443 passers are first timers and 4,567 are repeaters.

The results of examination with respect to seven (7) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.

PRC conducted the LET board exam in at least 25 testing centers nationwide which include NCR (Manila), Baguio City, Cagayan de Oro (CDO) City, Cebu City, Davao City, Laoag City, Legazpi City, Albay, Lucena City, Quezon, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur, Rosales, Pangasinan, Tuguegarao, Masbate City, Virac, Catanduanes, Antique, Bacolod, Iloilo, Catarman, Jolo, Sulu, Tacloban, Tawi-tawi, Zamboanga, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon and
in Hong Kong.

The BPT who gave the licensure exam is composed of Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairman; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy, Members.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on December 7, 2015. The requirements for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card (ID) are the following: 1) duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal; 2) latest Community Tax Certificate (Cedula); 3) 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag); 4) metered documentary stamp for the Oath Form; and 5) the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2015-2018. Successful examinees should PERSONALLY register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The dates and venues for the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER, PRC said.
Coverage of Exam and Passing Rate

September 27, 2015 licensure examination for teachers consists of two (2) parts for Elementary: General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%) and three (3) parts for Secondary: General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%) and Specialization (40%).

The test covered the major areas of GE (English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences subjects), PE (teaching profession, social dimensions of education, principles of teaching, education technology, curriculum development, facilitating learning, child and adolescent development, assessment of student learning, developmental reading, field study and practice teaching). The 10 specializations for Secondary Teacher with exam coverage depends on the chosen course: English, Filipino, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Social Studies or Social Sciences, Values Education, MAPEH, Agriculture and Fishery Arts and TLE (Technology and Livelihood Education.

PRC and the Board of Professional Teachers said that in order to pass September 2015 LET, an examinee must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the subjects.


Expected release date of LET Results

The probable release date of September 2015 LET exam is between November 6 (Friday) and on the last week of November 2015. The projected date excludes holidays on November 18 and 19 (APEC Summit) and non-working days (Saturdays and Sundays).

Based from PRC Resolution No. 2014-874, the target release of results is after 43 working days or on Friday, November 27, 2015.

In August 2014 LET, results were released in 51 working days. PRC named 25,301 elementary teachers out of 70,786 examinees (35.74%) and 26,767 secondary teachers out of 77,803 examinees (34.40%) who have passed the one-day test.

In March this year, results are out after 38 working days. A total of 12,103 elementary teachers out of 44,144 examinees (27.42%) and 17,904 secondary teachers out of 56,596 examinees (31.63%) successfully passed the LET.

As you can see with the history of LET as shown above, the total days before the release of teachers board exam results correlate with the total number of examinees. For example, PRC was able to announce August 2014 LET in about 51 working days due to high number of test takers as compared to other schedules with less than 100,000 examinees.

Other factor that might prolong the agony of waiting is the bad weather condition or typhoon as the government tend to suspend office works for their (BPT) safety.

November 27, 2015 Update: Source shared on Facebook "LET us be patient as this remains to be the month that the Lord has made." It means that LET results will not be out today but expected to released from November 28-30. The delay may be due to APEC Summit 2015 on which the government declared work suspensions in the public sector (including PRC).

LET Top Performing Schools

In March 2015, six schools made it to the top performing schools category for Elementary level and five for secondary level.

De La Salle University (DLSU) - Manila and University of the Philippines (UP) - Diliman got the 100-percent passing rate for Elementary. Saint Louis University (SLU), Central Philippine University (CPU), Pamantasan Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) - Unisan ranked second to fifth respectively. For secondary level, UPD, SLU, University of Santo Tomas (UST), Xavier University (XU) and Philippines Normal University (PNU) are among the top performing schools.

In August 2014 exams, UST and PUP-Manila took the top spot for elementary level. 13 schools made to the list of top performing schools. Meanwhile, UPD and UST also dominated the secondary level exam with 9 schools on the highest rank.
