PRC releases LET Results March 20, 2016 teachers board exam

PRC and the Board of Professional Teachers (BPT) released official results of March 20, 2016 LET (Licensure Examination for Teachers) or known as Teachers Board Exam in 41 working days after the exam. The complete list of passers, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing schools and performance of schools are all available here as announced online.

PRC on Thursday, May 19, announced that 12,128 elementary teachers out of 42,739 examinees (28.38%) and 18,810 secondary teachers out of 53,090 examinees (35.43%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (L.E.T.).

It is further announced that of the 12,128 elementary teacher passers, 3,906 are first timers and 8,222 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 10,747 passers are first timers and 8,063 are repeaters.

The results of examination with respect to twenty-three (23) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.

PRC conducted the LET board exam in at least 20 testing centers nationwide which include NCR (Manila), Baguio City, Cagayan de Oro (CDO) City, Cebu City, Davao City, Laoag City, Legazpi City, Albay, Lucena City, Quezon, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur, Rosales, Pangasinan, Tuguegarao, Masbate City, Antique, Bacolod, Iloilo, Catarman, Jolo, Sulu, Tacloban, Tawi-tawi, Zamboanga, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon.

The BPT who gave the licensure exam is composed of Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairman; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy, Members.

From May 30 - June 2, 2016 (Elementary) and June 3 - June 10, 2016 (Secondary), registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Click HERE and follow the instructions for initial registration. Those who will register are required to bring the following: 1) duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal; 2) two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag); 3) two sets of documentary stamps. Successful examinees should PERSONALLY register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The dates and venues for the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER, PRC said.

Coverage of Exam and Passing Rate

The March 20, 2016 licensure examination for teachers is consists of two (2) parts for Elementary: General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%) and three (3) parts for Secondary: General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%) and Specialization (40%).

The test covered the major areas of GE (English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences subjects), PE (teaching profession, social dimensions of education, principles of teaching, education technology, curriculum development, facilitating learning, child and adolescent development, assessment of student learning, developmental reading, field study and practice teaching). The 10 specializations for Secondary Teacher with exam coverage depends on the chosen course: English, Filipino, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Social Studies or Social Sciences, Values Education, MAPEH, Agriculture and Fishery Arts and TLE (Technology and Livelihood Education.

PRC and the Board of Professional Teachers said that in order to pass March 2016 LET, an examinee must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.

Expected release date of March 2016 LET Results

According to PRC Resolution No. 2015-948, the target release date of March 2016 LET results is on Monday, May 16, 2016 or in 38 working days after the exam.

PRC's projection excludes 3 holidays (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and national election day) and weekends. A total of 57 calendar days or about 2 months was calculated.

In March 2015, results are out after 38 working days. A total of 12,103 elementary teachers out of 44,144 examinees (27.42%) and 17,904 secondary teachers out of 56,596 examinees (31.63%) successfully passed the LET.

In September 2015 exams, results were out online after 48 working days. PRC named 21,461 elementary teachers out of 68,442 examinees (31.36%) and 34,010 secondary teachers out of 81,463 examinees (41.75%) who have hurdled the licensure exam.

We advise examinees to monitor results starting Monday, May 2 to 20 or in 29 to 42 working days after the exam.

Based on the history of LET, the total days before the release of teachers board exam results correlate with the total number of examinees. For example, PRC was able to announce September 2015 LET in about 48 working days due to high number of test takers as compared to other schedules with less than 100,000 examinees.

LET Top Performing Schools

In March 2015 exam, 6 schools topped the Elementary level including De La Salle University (DLSU)-Manila, University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman, Saint Louis University (SLU), Central Philippine University (CPU), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) - Unisan. Meanwhile, 5 schools dominated the secondary level tests which include UPD, SLU, University of Santo Tomas (UST), Xavier University (XU) and Philippine Normal University (PNU)-Manila.

In September 2015, 11 schools made it to the list of top performing schools for Elementary level while 10 institutions were included for the secondary level. UST topped in both levels of exam.
